A paper published in scientific journal 'Lancet' has said the new super-bug, NDM1, said to be resistant even to most powerful antibiotics, has entered UK hospitals and is traveling with patients who had gone to countries like India and Pakistan for surgical treatments.
Linking India to super-bug unfair and wrong, says India
NDM1 threat may have some impact initially, but the threat will go off once the truth is known. It is going to have very little impact on medical tourism, a committee advising the Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF) said.
The committee members held their annual meeting here.
It was unfortunate that the study report arrived at a conclusion based on a small sample size of around 32 people and held a nation responsible for superbug, the panel said.
India rejects charges of exporting superbug
N K Ganguly, a member of the committee, disapproved of naming the superbug after New Delhi.
Indian hospitals have high quality infection monitoring system and it was comparable with international standards, Ganguly, a former Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said.
To Conclude :
“Life is beautiful and there is always a way to make it beautiful, Trust us and we trust you”.
